Sometimes you are able to give something back to someone who meant so much to you. Recently, I was able to do just that. My old pal, Mikey Lemmo, died in 2007. His family committed to conducting fundraisers for five years with the goal of funding a scholarship fund in his honor. The final event was the Mikey Lemmo Tailgate in October 2012.
I donated one of my rainbow trout prints, framed for the auction and it raised a nice amount for the Mikey scholarship fund. Not only was it fun for the Rocky Mt. trout to be appreciated, it tickled a lot of those Lake Erie fisherman to want me to come to the shores of Lake Erie in Eastern Ohio and create some Lake Erie fish prints soon. Can’t wait to get a line in the water with them in the spring and to print some of their trophy catch for them.
Mikey, we miss you! Your friendship goes on through so many.

Bristol Bay Lodge, Dillingham Alaska
Scott tells us, “I’m honored, to say the least, to have been invited to participate in the 2012 Artist-in‐Residence program at Bristol Bay Lodge in Dillingham, Alaska. Good friend and incredibly talented artist Bob White, www.bobwhitestudio.com, hosted the second annual A.I.R. program at the lodge this summer, after last summer’s program being a smashing success.
Scott headed up “loaded for bear” with enough ink and paper to create custom prints of native Alaskan fish, to keep myself busy every minute I’m not fishing.”
Several of the Alaskan prints are now in the gallery.
June 27, 2012 -Fisherman’s Processing – San Diego Demo at Fisherman’s Processing
Scott Wells and Reel Fish Ink conducted a live demos of the copyrighted fish print art in San Diego on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Fisherman’s Processing. Actual prints were made for sportfishermen of their selected trophy fish as they arrive at Fisherman’s Processing after arriving back from their multiple day fishing trip that originated at Fisherman’s Landing http://fishermanslanding.com .
Scott Wells of Reel Fish Ink created trophy prints at Fisherman’s Processing for those interested in the process of capturing the beauty of sportfishing.
Wells demonstrated his unique process for capturing the beauty of deep sea fish on Japanese rice paper, while preserving the actual fish for processing and eventual consumption. After the fish was printed, Wells used inks and brushes and his unique artistic flair to accentuate the inherent beauty of the fish. The fish was then ready to be given over to Fisherman’s Processing http://fishermansprocessing.com/ for immediate cutting and packaging.
Prints were available for purchase and made ready-to-ship home.
